God speaks through his Word.
We believe the Bible (both Old and New Testaments) is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings. The Bible is the supreme and final authority in all matters of salvation, faith and life. Through this collection of letters, history, poetry, and prophecy God reveals his character, nature, and active engagement in time and space to reconcile all people to himself forever.
II Timothy 3:16-17
God has always been and will always be the Creator and Ruler of everything.
We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All of life and creation has meaning and order because God created everything that exists by his love, will and power and for his glory and joy.
Genesis 1:1; John 10:30; John 4:24; Matthew 28:19.
Jesus is the Son of God, perfect sacrifice, and righteous King.
We believe in the Deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His substitutionary death and the absolute necessity of His shed blood for atonement, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His high priestly intercession for His people, and His personal, premillennial return for the church and His subsequent return to establish His kingdom on earth.
John 10:33; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35; Ephesians 1:7; John 11:25; Acts 1:11; Hebrews 4:14-16; Hebrews 7:25; I Thessalonians 4:13-17; II Thessalonians 2; Matthew 24:44; Revelation 19:11-16; Revelation 20:5-6.
God is still at work in the world through his Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, gives new life to repentant sinners, baptizes each into the body of Christ at the time of new birth, assures them of Heaven, and by His indwelling enables Christians to live a Godly life. It is the privilege and duty of every believer to be constantly filled (controlled) with the Spirit. The Holy Spirit seals and indwells every believer unto the day of redemption, gifting each for Christian service.
John 16:8; I Corinthians 3:16; I Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 12; I Corinthians 12.
Our world is broken.
We believe that Satan is a true spiritual being, created as an angel but who rebelled against God, taking many other angels with him to wage war against God to this day. Hell is a place of eternal, conscious punishment for Satan and all people who continue to live in rebellion against God.
Job 1:6-7; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20.
We believe that all people, by nature and by choice, have rebelled against God. In our natural self, we are sinful and lost, unable to experience new life without faith in Jesus and rebirth through the Holy Spirit. Humanity’s sinfulness finds expression in a world of chaos, division, war, greed, pride, and pain.
God made a way to be free from sin and to be reconciled to him forever.
We believe that people are reconciled to a holy God and forgiven for their sin (justified) only on the basis of faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; confession of sin, repentance and trusting Jesus are essential ingredients of saving faith. Salvation is the free gift of God to each who truly gives themselves to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Romans 3:19, 23; Romans 5:12; John 16:8-11; II Corinthians 3:6; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Acts 13:38-39; Ephesians 2:8-9; I Peter 1:18-19.
The Church is a family of servant missionaries.
We believe that a New Testament church is an organized, interdependent body of baptized believers, submitted to the Word of God and practicing Scriptural ordinances and disciplines. They are actively engaged in fulfilling the Great Commission as part of the body and espoused bride of Christ preparing for His return.
Acts 2:41-42; I Corinthians 5:12-13; Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 5:25-27; II Corinthians 11:2.
Certain practices help us remember and celebrate the gift of life we have in Jesus Christ.
We believe that baptism is a Scriptural ordinance requiring immersion in water upon a confession of faith in the Lord Jesus, and is typically administered by a New Testament church in a timely manner. Baptism has no saving power but is an act of obedience and identification with Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Acts 8:38-39; Acts 2:41; Romans 6:3-5; Ephesians 2:8-9; Matthew 28:19-20.
We believe that the Lord’s Supper (often called “communion”) is a Scriptural ordinance of the church, a memorial to the death of Christ, to be received by obedient Christians of like faith.
I Corinthians 11:23-30.
God created people to live forever.
We believe in the resurrection of all people, the saved to eternal life and the lost to everlasting punishment. The souls of the redeemed at death are instantly present with the Lord in conscious bliss awaiting a glorified body at “the first resurrection.” The souls of the unsaved at death await in conscious estrangement the second resurrection and the great White Throne of Judgment followed by everlasting conscious punishment in Hell.
Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29; John 11:25-26; Luke 23:43; Revelation 20:4-6; II Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 3:21; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Luke 16:19-26; Matthew 25:41-46; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 20:11-15.
